STILLWATER – Josh Holliday and Co. are continuing to add players out of transfer portal as former Wake Forest pitcher, Tyler Wood, has announced his commitment to Oklahoma State.

Wood is a 6-3 righthander out of Lee’s Summit, MO outside of Kansas City. Out of high school, Wood was rated as the No. 3 overall prospect and the second-best pitching prospect last year out of Missouri according to Perfect Game.

He just wrapped up his true freshman season with the Deacons, where he appeared in just three games. In those three appearances, with no starts, he threw just 0.2 innings with a 13.5 ERA. He recorded five walks with one strikeout across seven batters, giving up just one earned run.

There’s really nothing to judge from his freshman season, so those stats should be taken with a grain of salt.

Wood becomes the third commitment out of the transfer portal, joining former Morehead State infielder Aubrey Kearns and former Utah pitcher, Kaden Soder.
