The Aledo pass catcher is just what you would think Eric Morris would have ordered next in his receiver recruiting.

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State had to completely reorganize its’ receiver corps in the transfer portal when the new staff arrived and one of the best additions was Illinois starter Justin Bowick Jr. A big outside receiver with size and speed, Bowick answered a clear need. Bowick is a graduate senior and his eligibility ends with this season. There are others, but this is where head coach Eric Morris wants to add quality high school recruits to build his program. The commitment of Ake O’Neal out of Aledo, Texas does just that.

O’Neal is what you want. I promise you. He is a multi-talented athlete that has a track-and-field best 47’9” triple jump, 6’8” high jump from this spring, and a 22’9” long jump. He is fast for being 6-3, 195 pounds.

Last season he had some injuries, but caught 21 passes for 335-yards and a touchdown. There are nearly 20 schools that have found him and offered. He had visits set to Utah June 5, Wisconsin June 12, and Duke on June 19 in addition to his May 29 official visit to Oklahoma State. He was offered by nearly 20 schools also including Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Texas Tech, North Texas, and Tulsa.

O’Neal is the seventh commitment of the 2027 recruiting cycle and he is the sixth on the offensive side and teams at wide receiver with slot prospect and 4.4 speedster Cooper Hooker.
